Safety Instructions for Drowning Prevention
- When swimming, never overexert yourself. Please act within your own competence. Those who are unable to tread water or not good at swimming should not go to deep water or go too far from the shore.
- If you find someone drowning, please shout “Someone is drowning” and ask for help. If you have not learned in-water life-saving techniques, you shall not rush into the water to save people. At the same time, ask someone to dial 119 to call the fire brigade for help, and check whether there is any life-saving equipment in the surrounding area, such as life-saving rope bags, life buoys, life balls, life poles (hooks), etc. or any other substitutes for shore rescue.
- If the drowning person is not far from the shore, you can use any natural objects on the shore, such as bamboo poles, wooden poles, etc. to rescue the person from the shore. This is the safest and most effective method.
- When a drowning person is found, throw a lifebuoy, a lifeline bag, a rope and any other buoyant items to him or her, so that the drowning person can be rescued.
- If the drowning person is in water depth that is below chest level and not far from the shore, 3 to 5 people can form a human chain by holding hands to rescue the person.
